Estella analysis

Estella was adopted by Miss Havisham after she was left on her wedding day. Miss Havisham wanted to make Estella a weapon against men. She was of extreme beauty yet was brought up to recent men and was a cruel and heartless character.  However I think deep down she was just a very damaged character. She has no one but a mad mother to grow up with and she is forced to be mean to any man who shows interest in her.
She is also one of the most brutally honest out of the characters, telling Pip and even Miss Havisham exactly what she thinks. She is very judgemental of Pip's low society however we find out later on in the novel that Estella is actually of a lower society than Pip, being Magwitch's daughter.
Miss Havisham's plan doesn't go how she expected. Estella marries a cruel nobleman named Drummle, who beats her. This really changes the character by the end of the novel "I have been bent and broken, but I hope into a better shape."
Estella is by far my favourite character as there is much more to her than the eye can see.  She seems comes across as a child hearted bitch but theres something deep to the character that we slowly learn as the novel progresses. I like that she isn't just a straight forward character and that we aren't pushed towards an opinion on the character, we get to make our own minds up as she starts to unravel.
